Drawings provide an intimate glimpse into the artist's creative process that is rarely accessible in finished works. This class will focus on the period from the 15th to the 18th century with an occasional foray into more modern masters. We will learn about techniques from silverpoint to red and black chalk to pen and ink as well as the effect of different kinds of paper. A field trip to the Baltimore Museum of Art's great collection of works on paper will be available after the class.
